HOMETOWN WRANGLERS AT STUDIO 57
Yesterday was a fun day, I was asked by studio producer Marc Scully from Studio 57 if I wouldn’t mind coming into the studio on Sunday to play rhythm guitar on a few tracks, for a group he was putting together, The Hometown Wranglers. I went into the studio a few months before and laid down some vocals on a track Why Why Why, In the style of Howling Wolf, but all the players on the track came in individually on different days so we never got to meet each other.
Yesterday was great because we all got to be in a room together and work on songs. It’s so great when someone has a simple little guitar part, and after a little while to see that song totally transform when it gets love and attention from some of the 10 musicians working on this project. This is so fucking cool.
We have artists from many different genres working in the Hometown Wranglers project, from straight up country, rock and roll, rockabilly, jazz, blues and rock, so it is going to be interesting to see how this project turns out in the end.
I took my video camera in yesterday and captured and few bits and pieces of what was going on so I hope you enjoy.
